Ace the Hotrod Mechanic

Ace is a mini Munny.
Painted with acrylics with some hotrod flames. It took me some time to paint but it was worth the work. I really wanted to paint a flamed munny!
The tool is from a big munny but I guess that it looks good with Ace.

Air Milk

A gift from a friend. This baby bottle made it to the Toy world with some plasticard wings and a nice painjob.
It had candy inside but "someone" ate it.

A DIY Trexi cat. The last of my Trexy toys painted as a stupid tiger that someone abandoned on a desert island.

Pat the New Year Pig

Although not a DIY toy itself it is the least likely model that may exist. This pig was formerly one of those pencil top rubbers. Bought a few days before Christmas by € 0.30.
It was of a ridiculous pink; measuring about one inch and it was painted with acrylics in the last hours of December 31, 2008, hence the name. It has a resin base.
He seems embarrassed about something, maybe farted at the table!

The Monkey Ninja from Armageddon

The monkey ninja is one of my favourite jobs, in part by the simplicity of the model. DIY monkey Trexi painted with acrylics.
His weapon was a simple conversion: a section of a brush fixed to a square of plasticard (guard) and another piece of plasticard to the blade. The effect is scary ...
The kimono was painted dark blue with black details and the legs grey (with slippers), don't be deceived by the simplicity of the painting. (it has a concealed weapon ...)

Dia de Los Muertos

One of the DIY toys bought in Amsterdam, a Toy2r baby Qee cool!
The idea was to create a "dia de los muertos" skull similar to the cover of a Voodoo Glow Skulls album.
After searching the Internet for various colour schemes, I created this bastard with flowers in his eyes and webbed forehead! The guy has a gold tooth!
Painted with acrylics; was one of the most elaborate paintings in a DIY toy.
The overall was painted brown and simple but with a missing button. At the rear there is an opening for the diaper! The wings were painted light blue and white. This was the result.

The Boy Bomb

This is a DIY round Trexi painted like a young rebel whose head is about to explode.
The conversion was relatively simple: a bit of wire and a bit of Green Stuff would do the fuse. Painted with acrylic with Love / Hate tattoos included. The bomb was simple: all black and with an extra dose of varnish.

The Green Egg

The idea was to create a butler who was also an egg stand. Is a DIY egg Trexi. The design is quite simple: a suit and tie butler, white gloves and a giant egg head.
Painted with acrylics. The egg itself has a little more work than the rest; I wanted it a little more elaborate than yellow or brown. The hole was made to give the impression that an animal is peeking from inside the egg.
Do you imagine such guy at a party?

Orange Van der Nerd

THE FIRST- and it was on my trip to Amsterdam that I stumbled on the most beautiful, quaint and friendly toy I've ever seen: the Munny from Kidrobot.
I was completely glazed on the models and being a miniature painter my head boiled up with the options of that melon head. So I bought some crazy toys in Amsterdam...
The DIY Munny were not new to me, since I regularly follow the artist "extraordinaire" Mathieu Fontaine’s blog, but seeing them in person was something else! The concept of "anything goes" seemed fantastic!
Arriving in Portugal I started the office work: on a print version of the mini Munny I began to draw what would be a tribute to Amsterdam, Orange Van der Nerd, after all it was bought in Holland!
The Nerd was completed with the glasses. Do I need to explain why it is orange?
Painted with acrylics as usual.

Martin "the Bomber" Xing

I had a DIY bear Trexi and I did not want an "all brown" colour scheme so the panda seemed the best option (and I know that a panda is not a bear).
The boxing panda appears because the hands of DIY Trexi look like boxing gloves.
Painted with acrylics, black and white and such, also a little red and purple to the head. Nice!

Little Boy Nuke

This is a WWII atomic bomb replica named "Little Boy", now in a portable format and MUCH less dangerous. The joke of this series Creatus Maximus is the fact that they are smart bombs (Smart Bombs) so it has a brain!
It suffered a small conversion since the fins were a choice of arms (which also featured robotic arms and bat wings) I carefully drilled the bomb and glued the fins in a new position. I glued it to a plasticard base for stability.
It was painted with acrylics.

Sara the Super Decline

Sara is a Munny and is one of the first DIY toys that I saw live, bought it in Amsterdam because it was the only place where I found a Munny.
Sara is a tribute to one of my favourite songs: "The Decline" by Nofx.
The idea was to build a super-anti-hero who represented our decline, a personification of music. So I took the chaos ray gun and the hat that came in the box (surprise accessories) but a super-hero is nothing without a cape - plasticard!
The painting was done with acrylics and was based on an asymmetrical uniform, simple and solid with the exception of eyes and lips where I wanted a bit more life.
For the checkers on the cape and hat I was inspired by a little old tablecloth that my mother had. The entire white surface was covered with The Decline lyrics, painted with pen... The end!
By the way Sara is the name of a girl in the lyrics.

Canned Skate

This is the real "do-it-yourself" since it was built with left over parts from two other models: the can is one of the accessories of a Munny (Sara) and the arms are from the Smart Bomb.
It was my first work with collages and painting since the idea was to make a can of skate / robot.
As always painted in acrylics.

Sad Mexican Devil

A DIY horned Trexi painted has if it was a sad Mexican devil. The idea came to me after seeing that the bat like wings were perfect for it (The wings came from the “Smart Bomb”) the only thing missing was a tail that is made of wire and plasticard. He has a brutal moustache.

v1.0 K

The vintage v1.0 K robot is the first DIY square Trexi I’ve painted and it was responsible for the “elimination” of my very old PC.
The dull green and blue and the weathering give it the old toy look and the eyes painted like gems give it some life. Here is the result.

War Dog

The "War Dog" (COD4 veteran) is a Qee dog that was once the "Shaolin Dog". He was converted and repainted.
Converted with bits from an old kit and my Ogre Kingdoms army and painted with acrylics.
He has an M16 on his hand and a M249 SAW on his back.
An example of the difficulty it is to find DIY toys in Portugal… It’s impossible! Just paint over a painted one!
